Lineup and details for Get Loaded in The Park 2009 on Sunday 30th August 2009

The award-winning Get Loaded in the Park festival returns to the capital's finest field - Clapham Common this summer on Bank Holiday Sunday 30th August 2009 for its 6th year of hedonism. Brought to life by Lock N Load Events as part of the Clapham Weekender (also see South West Four on Saturday 29th August), last year's sell-out show witnessed spectacular performances from the likes of Iggy & the Stooges, The Hives, Supergrass, Gossip, Kate Nash, Soulwax and Gogol Bordello amongst many others. Nominated for four awards at the UK Festival Awards, Get Loaded in the Park 2008 was widely regarded as our greatest hour with all 20,000 tickets selling out in advance.
NO MUD! NO CAMPING! NO HASSLE!
Looking ahead to 2009, there'll be NO ticket price increase... but that's not stopping us from upping the ante yet again in terms of the line-up and overall production. Look out for bigger stages, even better sound and the ultimate festival experience right bang slap in the middle of your back yard. No 1 hour treks to the site, no mud, no camping, no re-mortgage plans needed to finance your fun... Get Loaded in the Park is your one-stop festival shop, right here in the heart of London. In these economic times of crisis, we offer you everything a great festival should, where your pound goes further and with the added luxury of catching the last tube home! From a variety of freshly made global food, to 4 music stages, toilets galore and an intimate festival atmosphere as good as you'll find anywhere in the world.
Having revitalised the baggy scene in 2004 and 2005 with the reformation of The Happy Mondays, The Farm and Flowered Up, Get Loaded went all indie-pop in 2006 with Babyshambles, Buzzcocks, Graham Coxon and Lily Allen, before going urban in 2007 with The Streets, Dizzee Rascal and M.I.A. Last year we saw punk super-gods Iggy & the Stooges take centre stage, so what then for 2009? Well, how does a big phat slice of electronica grab you...?

AND THIS YEAR'S HEADLINER IS...
We're absolutely delighted to announce that ORBITAL will be this year's official headliners, playing the climatic closing set at this summer's Get Loaded in the Park. Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their classic debut single ‘Chime' - one of the greatest dance records of all time, the iconic duo Paul and Phil Hartnoll will be playing their only London Festival appearance of 2009 in the darkness and the great outdoors of Clapham Common. Fittingly, the Common was a popular destination for the rave scene back in the late 80's / early 90's, so to have Orbital playing live on this notorious field two decades later will be something extra special. Get ready for a legendary comeback!
"We're really excited to be playing at Get Loaded" beams Paul Hartnoll. "It should be a fantastic way to end the summer festival season and we've heard some great reports from friends who have been. It's brilliant to be playing a big outdoor show in London."
