Lineup and details
After its enchanting inaugural show in August, Larry Loves You returns to Bar Kick with another evening of performance, art and short film screenings, curated by performance company Larry's Goodbye.
Larrys Goodbye wanted to give the good people of London something they deserve a night of all kinds of art. They invited their friends (and those who are yet to become their friends) and asked them to switch on their light bulbs, get their brushes rolling, their cameras snapping, their bodies dancing
the result is Larry Loves You, created by Londons emerging artists.
Find something you havent worn in a while, dust it off and come down to play at Bar Kick. You know you want to
Larrys Goodbye is a collaboration of artists Lauren Hart and Zita Zutic. The work they create is somewhere between theatre, live art, installation and intervention. Ideally they would prefer it not to be classed as any of those. They like to play in spaces that are not designed for performance (bars, parks, boats, peoples homes and their beds) and they like their audience to work hard. So far, those who have seen Larry in action have been asked to give away their secrets, make friends with strangers and dance with the lights off.
Rather than 'seeing a show, experience a genuine moment.
Exactly what London needs. Kevin Konak, musician.
It was wonderful how it moves from this intimate, very vulnerable, almost confessional account and then into an increasingly hypnotic ceremony. Overall a brilliant mix of two differing formats. - Aaron Minnigin, Artistic Director Tin Horse Theatre.
"When sitting in front of a mirror and listening to someone else's voice describe how they feel about themselves I felt completely isolated in the moment. I felt like shouting, laughing and crying. How hard is it to look in a mirror?" - Jamie Mckie, actor.
Artists taking part on 15th Sept:
Performance designer Sarah-Jane Blake
Painter and installationist Ella Lucas
Illustrator and installationist Moristache
Video artist Emily Bailey
Filmmaker John Petersson
