Lineup and details Lineup and details

Menial Monkey is a small record label based in Berkshire with a knack for spotting the best new acoustic/folk and DIY artists from around the country.

They’ve had packed houses at Oakford in Reading and at The Lock Tavern in Camden and are bringing Menial Monkey Presents… to the Amersham Arms in New Cross, in collaboration with We Are Colin, the guys behind five.eight.eight at the Defectors Weld in Shepherds Bush.

Headline act GRAND NATIONAL (from Rob Da Bank’s SUNDAY BEST roster) will play a special acoustic set on the eve of their Australian tour.

Also appearing, genius piano playing enigma F. LUNAIRE.  Described as 'the country's best kept secret' and even bravely mentioned in the same sentence as Tom Waits by raggedwords.com, his live sets are something special. He is currently recording his debut album with Aaron Horn, Trevor’s son.

Opening the evening (at the school-night friendly time of 7pm) will be Leicester-based psychedelic/indie band THE JUNIPERS making a rare appearance south of the Watford gap.   Described by Mark Riley as “excellent stuff”, think Mike Nesmith meets Beta Band.

Spinning dusty Sunday afternoon tunes before, between and after the live bands will be DJ TK of West London ’s Broader Than Broadway Soundsystem and PETE WHEELER, founder of Menial Monkey records and regular guest at Buttoned Down Disco.
