The Mothership's little monthly sister, The Othership is back at the 333 in July, and every second Friday of the month after that.
Firstly we have a great party for you.
Upstairs we welcome Ben Westbeech.
A while back now Ben gave a demo tape to all around hero Gilles Peterson who listened to it after the club in his car, and promptly decided to sign Ben to his new project, Brownswood Recordings.
Ben has a love of all things soul, jazz and fun, but with a sure love of the underground, which is what gives his sound an edge, whether singing with his band or DJing.
Ben's release, So Good Today was a gold nugget for the soul clubs, before being remixed by Osunlade and catapulted into the wider scene, being regularly rinsed in clubs by house heads, and radio stations worldwide. Now with his debut album out there, Ben is taking a bit of summer time off to concentrate on DJing before his second album next year. He has a DJ residency at Gilles Peterson's new night at East Village, has featured mixes on The Breezeblock and Podcasts all over, as well as playing with Ninja Tune and festivals worldwide. A blend of House, Electro, Soul and Old Skool eclecticism will provide the perfect blend for the drunks in the 333.
Supporting Ben will be The Minimalists playing a roots set of classic House and vintage Techno. From Detroit to New York via Chicaco, digging out and dusting off those extra special vinyl, for a real house party vibe. Frankie Knuckles or Rhyhtim is Rhythim anyone? How about some Innercity? Model 500?. Ron Trent; do you remember House?
Deep downstairs on the stage we welcome the amazing Süd Electronic for a Süd basement session.
Süd are one of the most respected dance labels in London, consistently putting out creative and inspirational underground tracks and hosting some of the best parties in London.
We are fortunate to have a live show from Portable aka Bodycode, who is flying in from Lisbon.
Portable's recent release Power Of Ten on Süd has and still is receiving critical acclaim worldwide for all its sensibilities, hidden depths and diversity. As well as his releases on the US heavyweight label, Spectral Sound. Portable is a master of the underground sound with a great live show.
Supported by the Süd Electronic DJs, Lakuti, Nick Craddock and friends.
As usual we'll be transforming the place with loads of visual trickery and fun.
