One man clearly with the summer, 2008 and indeed the foreseeable history as we know it firmly within his sights is Jamie Jones. The wunderkind tearing up dance music is something of a visceral figure, appearing as if from nowhere to grab clubland by its balls. It was through his mellifluous groove heavy productions on Crosstown Rebels, Freak N Chic, Get Physical and Mobilee was where he initially caught the eye, combining the swagger of house at its jacking best with the menace and sinister hedonism of techno. But it’s as a DJ where he really excels, managing to create dark and dirty soundtracks that feel as perfect locked in a sweaty basements as they do atop Mediterranean shores as the sun rises. A hero for the hardcore generation, this is the underground glory hitting Lincoln with no holds barred.
