Ladies and gentleman, the moment you have all been waiting for. We are stoked to announce something a little bit special for our joint valentines venture.

Butter Side Up and AM collective have come together to bring you a proper old-fashioned valentines celebration, with a party to capture the soul of the underground, "The Blues Brothers and Soul Sisters Valentines ball". We are even more excited to be bringing one of the hottest talents to have caught our eye recently; Amsterdams San Proper!

**Theme**

You guessed it. As the name of the party would suggest, its a blues brothers and soul sisters theme. The Fancy dress at the last AM party was off the meter, anyone who went will know, so the bar has been raised pretty high.

**Dress Code Guidelines**

Blues brothers soul sisters: Think Rat pack, think braces, think sharp blazers, sharp shirts. Matching backing singer outfits, The commodores, Floral dresses, roses (its valentines) 60's Motown influence, brown leather, afros, slick backs, Dan Ackroyd, Al Green. big lapelles, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, bowlers, velvet!! leather gloves. Buckets of shoe polish. Moustaches. Pinstripe. Collars up. Beehives! Mini skirts Suave, sexy and strapping.- This list will hopefully give you something to work with.

This is a ball, that means you gotta find someone to go with. You don't wanna turn up on your own looking like a total square. There will be perks for the people who arrive with dates. If you can't be with the one you love, then love the one you're with!

**SAN PROPER**

San has been bubbling under the surface since 2007, when out of nowhere a brace of red-hot releases surfaced on RushHour courtesy of Proper, and his good pal's Tom Trago and O'Boogie all hailing from the Dam! Since then, San has kept the peddle to the metal, with releases on Ratio Music, Zip and Markus Nikolai's iconic/Seminal vinyl imprint Perlon and most recently Studio Soulrock. A fruitful portfolio none-the-less. His productions give nods towards disco roots and funk and always boast class, unique ideas and more often than not, a lovely raw, organic edge. The tunes keep coming..

Over the last fifteen years, he has been spinning and playing live from major clubs and festivals to smaller bars and dodgy underground locations. Hes a resident and well respected resident of Trouw in Amsterdam and as a DJ, Proper has coined his very on signature style, fusing classic stripped house sounds in with funk, soul and rare groove, and keeping things pure with a fresh crate of vinyl at the ready. San is also is known and praised for his House & Disco sets, but skillfully blending in different styles from Acid to Afro-beat into a diverse mix!

We first discovered his inceptive approach to entertaining an audience from listen to his awesome "DR. San Proper soul shows" (this is actually what inspired the eccentricity of this night) on Red Light radio, where he gives a James Brownesque running commentary to his eclectic sets. Expect some microphones on standby for the show, and prepare to be funkified to the maxibon by the master of the ceremony.
