Lineup and Details for BeatStreet 1st Birthday with MK (Marc Kinchen) on Sun 26th August 2012

We are BeatStreet and we are soon to be 1 year old!

To celebrate this milestone, we have managed to secure the services of a true House Music Legend all the way from the U.S.A.

Enter Mr Marc Kinchen a.k.a MK.

Very few producers can claim to have shaped dance music as much as MK. He not only defined the house sound of the early '90s with his b-side dubs, but also elevated the art of the remix to new levels, consistently transforming lacklustre pop music into genuine dance floor gold. His dub version of Nightcrawlers' "Push the Feeling'' is as big a record as they come but at the same time Mark Kinchen actually found his first success making Detroit techno in Kevin Saunderson's studio at the tender age of 16.

Contacted by Defected for a new mix last year, hes back and as relevant as ever. The mans back catalogue is being picked apart and re-released on cooler than cool labels like Omar Ss FXHE and Amsterdams Delsin, whilst the man himself is busy re-working everyone from Lana Del Ray to Morgan Geist, recording with Lee Foss, Jamie Jones and Will Smiths children as well as laying down the theme for the forthcoming Men in Black 3 movie.
On top of all this, the Detroit born producer has just been to Ibiza for the first time and still manages to find time to take his kids to school.

After his set at The Ministry of Sound in London earlier in the year, Trina John-Charles asked a few people how they would describe MK. The word Legend (often with the F word as a prefix) came up time and time again. And quite rightly so, there are not many producers who can hop from genre to genre and be as equally proficient in each. However during his 25 year career, Marc MK Kinchen has done exactly that.

Support comes from the Beatstreet residents and friends - A collective of some the UK Undergrounds most promising young House Music producers & DJ's - purveyors of the Norths most notorious monthly Party; a 12 hour marathon at The Garage, Leeds.
