The May bank holiday in Leeds sees the Dirty Disco crew throw a secret rave at one of the citys more alternative spaces.
The Dirty Disco has become somewhat legendary in its home town of Leeds in the three short years its been around, so its no surprise when you consider that Josh Wink one of the Worlds greatest DJs and producers, wanted to play at this special, limited ticket event to make his DD debut appearance. Best known for the epic Higher State of Consciousness, and the more recently Pete Tong Supported Stay Out All Night, Winks underground, acid sound is guaranteed to make sure no one goes home early!
Further embracing Dirty Discos versatile music policy, which spans a broad underground spectrum is club resident, Matt Cooper. Compared by Steve Lawler to the talents of the incredibly gifted James Zabiela, Cooper has won recognition from Galaxy FM and dance giant, Mixmag for his style unique style of electronic techno, making him a firm favourite with the DD crowd.
Making up the stack of Dirty Discos cutting-edge residents at this East London style warehouse event, is Errol Brown who will bring a set of deep minimal elements juxtaposed with tougher electronic grooves to rock the crowd. Finally on the bill is Death On The Balcony. These boys play anything from the deep and melodic to the trippy and rolling, and have an army of fans behind their production including Hernan Cattaneo, Caged Baby, Rob Da Bank, and JoJo De Freq - not a bad fan club, eh?!
The Dirty Disco can usually be found packing out the Victoria Warehouse, also in Leeds as well as at Nylon in Sheffield where it holds monthly residencies. This summer sees the Dirty Disco return to, quite possibly the best electronic music festival this year Gatecrashers Summer Sound System. On Saturday 24th May DD will host its own stage with festival headlining acts Dave Clarke and Luciano plus so much more. Single day tickets cost £59.50 from www.gatecrasher.com/tickets
