THE WORKSHOP:
In this exciting workshop you will explore the techniques of stage combat with Fight Director Kevin Rowntree. Stage combat is an essential skill for all actors and this workshop will introduce you to the key principles that will enable you to perform a fight safely and effectively. You will learn hand-to-hand fighting techniques used by professional actors on stage and screen and by the end of the day you will be able to perform a short fight routine.
THE WORKSHOP LEADER:
KEVIN ROWNTREE Fight Director
Kevin trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and with the Society of British Fight Directors. Kevin is a specialist in performance combat and an accredited Stage Combat Instructor and Examiner for the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. Fight directing credits include Henry V & Much Ado about Nothing (British Shakespeare Company), Five Kinds of Silence & Fen (Live Theatre, Newcastle), Little India (Trestle Theatre Company), Song for a Sanctuary (Watermans Arts Centre, London); Stalingrad (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield); Say Goodnight to the Bad Guy (Rideout Theatre, Birmingham), Visible & Woyzeck (Cardboard Citizens, Soho Theatre), His Teeth (Only Connect Theatre Company) and Peter Pan (ABA Productions, Hong Kong). Film work includes Fisticuffs (Channel 4 Films) and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Disney Productions).
