Lineup and details for A taste of impulse - The Meisner Technique by Scott Williams on Sunday 12th February 2012
A TASTE OF IMPULSE
Scott Williams will take you through an intense one-day course combining the Meisner Techniques for acting with the performance theories of the visionary director William Ball. You'll explore simple exercises which take the actor toward our definition of acting: "living truthfully under a given set of circumstances." These techniques have been popularised by such luminaries as Dianne Keaton, Robert Duvall, Sydney Pollack, and David Mamet.
Williams studied with Meisner and Ball in the United States, and has developed their work with The Impulse Company, which he founded in 1996 and which now trains actors throughout the world. His work as a director has been seen from London's West End to Hong Kong to New York, and though he is based in London, he is overseeing The Impulse Company's expansion into regular training in Paris, Sydney, and Hong Kong.
***This is recommended for Actors and Directors but anyone can attend and will learn something incredible***

Stephanie Upsall - managing Director of WYTN - has participated in Scott's workshops before. She has invited him up here because his workshop gave her an insight and understanding into acting/directing she didn't realise existed. She strongly advices you to sign up for this workshop as it is a tool every actor and director should have. Without a doubt. She says Scott will be coming back to run a week of Meisner so this is a perfect chance to get an understanding of it to see if you want more.
