Tale of Us
Initially incepting the airwaves with releases on 'Barraca Music', 'Cocoon' and 'Life & Death’, Tale Of Us had solidified their unique sound from the offset. A tale of journeys, the pair had both relocated from America to Europe and finally Berlin, where they concreted not only their partnership but the amalgamating style they are known for today. Notable was their 2011 debut release on Visionquest with the EP, Dark Song. The leading track a brilliant piece of atmospheric and breathy minimal tech infused house. Circle of Love and Valliant also made for the EP being extremely well renowned and being received with across the board acclaim. Since then the pair have had a collaborative release and continued to tour the world bringing their infused and unique sounds to us all through their celebrated Live and DJ sets.
We are delighted to welcome the creative force that is Jimmy Edgar to the Garden Party this year. As well as photography and design, Edgar is pretty good at music too- in fact he was only 18 when he effectively joined the Warp family. Edgar’s talents stretch far and wide as he continued to culminate and perfect his funk inspired electronic sound. 2010 finally saw a full length release that is quite simply, brilliant. Majenta received a wave of praise and cemented Edgar’s reputation not only as a tastemaker but a leader in the scene.
Also joining us are Belfast duo and self professed 80’s inspired analog house advocates, Bicep. Not only known by their music but also their infamous blog, Feel My Bicep, exploring an array of music but primarily disco, house and techno infused cuts. Their music is renowned for it’s influences from the aforementioned genres, current but with a deep rooted respect and understanding of the development of electronic music as we know it today. Of course it wouldn’t be Bicep without their unique and groove inspired creations, since their initial 2010 releases on Throne of Blood and Traveller Records they’ve continued to inspire with stand out tracks such as wonderfully catchy ‘$tripper’, their world wide sets infused with a similar eclectic of selection.
With it’s beginnings eight years ago in Bristol, the Futureboogie DJs and parties have become highly regarded in their home town, across the UK, and beyond.
The cast of DJs may have changed over the years, but the hallmarks of no boundaries quality music and a good party have survived, and are now in the capable hands of Joe90, El Harvo, and Kid Bongo. Futureboogie now houses a club promotions in both Bristol and London, a worldwide respected website, a booking and management agency, and radio shows both online and on FM. As well as travelling the world bringing their selections to us all, they are going to be right here in Leeds for our enjoyment.
