Lineup and Details for Wax:On at Canal Mills: Pearson Sound on Sat 6th October 2012
For our second event at the stunning Canal Mills setting, weve compiled one of our heftiest line ups for a long, long time covering all manner of bases in the house, techno and electronica arenas. Canal Mills is a brand new art and event space located near Leeds City Centre and will become our new home for the coming months ahead. Interweaving the lines of its own authentic history as a textile mill and the unbounded innovation of modern art, the venue will showcase a range of artistic pursuits from exhibitions, theatrical projects and film screenings, to live gigs and electronic dance events.
Now for this line up. Weve got label owners (three in fact), a Leeds debut performances and a whole host more.

Formally known as Ramadanman, Pearson Sound co-ordinates a successful record label (Hessle Audio), and undoubtedly stands as one of the most innovative producers to immerge from the UK in the last 5 years. Following an unbelievably successful few years involving a Fabric Live mix, and now with teasers appearing online of his collabs with Joy O and Boddika, not to mention a brand new EP on the way featuring THAT track Clutch, there appears to be no signs of things slowing down for David Kennedy anytime soon.
Jackmaster is the head honcho of Numbers Records, one of the most successful imprints within the bass music canon of recent years. Through his Numbers camp he has released a slew of records from the likes of Deadboy, Roska, Untold, Jamie XX, Mosca and more recently Randomer. Not only securing his record label as one of the most exciting new imprints at the heart of the scene, he has also proved himself as the crème de la crème of selector on the scene.
With electronic music becoming more polished and quantized, Boddikas arrival has shaken the scene to its very core, slamming down with a raw take on things thats making all journalists scramble for the right genre tag. Is it electro? Techno? Old? New? Harking the expansive sounds of Luke Vibert, the analogue programming of Juan Atkins early work, and the rawness of the Drexciya/Dopplereffekt family, Boddika is the newest project of Al Green, 1/2 of the boundary-pushing duo thats re-written the rules completely, Instra:mental.
London based producers Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman make house music thats inseparable from the genres tradition but comes with both a widescreen ambition and a distinctly UK underground edge. Timeless, fresh, both classic and contemporary and unmistakably theirs, Dusky's sound is influenced by everything from deep Detroit techno and bumping UK garage to classical and avant-garde electronica. We are honoured to provide the platform for their debut performance in Leeds.
