Pete Tong is Britain's best-loved dance DJ. He doesn't need an award to prove his popularity and he won't act cool to keep his credibility. The host of Radio 1's ground-breaking Essential Selection show for a staggering eight years, he works within the mainstream, but is respected by the underground and maintained his status as the most influential man in British dance music.

As a DJ, Pete has graced the decks of the best clubs and festivals worldwide. As a producer he has assembled the music for movie soundtracks such as The Beach, Human Traffic and 24 Hour Party People and has produced his own material under various guises.

As an innovator, Pete has taken the world of Podcasts by storm and taking the #1 spot in the music podcasts download chart with the ‘Tongcast’. Pete has also produced the world’s first collection of TV-style music shows, aired weekly direct to mobile phones. And as an icon, Tong was the inspiration behind the film “It’s All Gone Pete Tong”.

Pete’s success as a broadcaster, clubland DJ and music industry tastemaker is his ability to create a balance between credibility and commerciality and it not afraid to drop the hits on the decks. “People forget it’s entertainment,” Pete explains. “I wouldn’t be doing this if I couldn’t champion new music, but a mix is the key. And it’s supposed to be fun.”

The dance market has changed a lot since Pete started, but one thing remains the same, people still want to go out and have a good time. “People love music, make no mistake about that, whether and how they buy it right now is one thing, but people still want to party…it’s our job to come up with new parties, new nights, new venues, new themes to keep the scene fresh and exciting.” says Tong.


In the Summer of 2008, Pete controversially ended his 4 year Ibiza residency at Pacha to launch Wonderland Ibiza at Eden, located in the resurgent San Antoni area of the White Isle.
From the off, it became one of the island's 'Must-Go' club events, thanks largely to the forward thinking DJ line-ups and a mixture of well established and up and coming DJs.

The newly crowned Mixmag & Blackberry DJ holds down his residency at Lancaster Loves. Things are looking up for this rising star...

D.O.D recently won the ‘Mixmag, Blackberry & DSI search for a resident DJ competition’ which will see him fly over to Ibiza to become the resident for Mixmag for the whole week. He will play a string of wild parties across the Island to cause havoc at!

It is not just his technical skills that separate him from the rest as his creative abilities and imaginative style always shines through when he hits the decks, never failing to impress. Before every show, he digs out the finest acapellas, bootlegs and instrumentals to bridge the gap for switching genres of music.

D.O.D’s ability to play so many different styles of music has seen him become one of the most interesting DJs to hear and watch for a long time. Whether he’s playing a House warm up set, a pumping House and Techno peak time set, a Dubstep and Drum and Bass set or even and all out student mash-up frenzy, D.O.D is a DJ that must be seen.
