During September, Full of Noises and Lanternhouse will be hosting a residency for one of the most exciting young musicians in Europe, Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir. Hildur will be working in and around Lanternhouse to develop a new piece of work to be performed on Saturday 25th September.
Best known for her collaborations with Múm and guest appearances with Pan Sonic, Hildur has a rich catalogue of collaborations and proj...ects behind her. As a composer she has written music for plays, dance performances and films, pieces for chamber orchestras, various instruments, voices and electronics. She also recently co-composed a live soundtrack to Derek Jarman's 1980 film In The Shadow of The Sun with legends Throbbing Gristle and arranged a choir for performances by them in Austria and London.
Her album Without Sinking was one of the most widely praised records of 2009 and this event is an extremely rare chance to hear Hildur perform her music live in an intimate venue. Whether you're a fan of electronics, classical or experimental music, you won't want to miss this!
