Lineup and details for Ghost Hunt - Ghost Hunting at Languard Fort on Saturday 19th May 2012
Join our team and Psychic Medium as we investigate this Historic location on the banks of the river Orwell at the mouth of Harwich Harbour.
Its bitterly fought past lays ground to some of the paranormal activity you may experience during your visit with us.
We have managed to secure the use of the entire fort during our nights investigation exclusively for you!
There have been a number of fortifications built on Landguard Point over the years. In 1543 Henry VIII had two blockhouses built which rapidly deteriorated.
Over the following 200 years there were numerous changes made to the location including the use of brick built forts and the addition of a pentagon shaped fort with Bastions.
Later in 1871 yellow bricks were in use all the earlier internal structure was demolished making way for a seven gun casemate facing the river including newer accommodation blocks.
Throughout most of the 20th century the fort was used largely as accommodation Barracks and in 1951 the gun casemates were converted into cold war control rooms.
Finally in 1956 the use of coastal artillery was no longer required and the fort was sealed and left to decay until the English Heritage took its care into hand leaving the fort as you see it today.
Spectral activity at the fort was recorded by the Army as long ago as the 1750's and as recently as the 1940's. Since the Army left in 1956 there have been many reported events. Recently, aural phenomena have been reported by visitors
With the extensive history that this location holds spirits and paranormal activity are sure to surround this fort making this hunt and its vigils a fantastic night.
Join in with group séances, table tipping and more.
As with all our events you will have the opportunity to break down into smaller groups and carry out your own investigation, with the help and guidance of our team.
Our ghost hunting equipment will all be made available for your use, and you will be shown how to use it effectively.
You are welcome to bring any ghost hunting equipment of your own, and don't forget your camera and / or camcorder.
