sally01 Offline Points:12 Posts: 1 | Brilliant weekend... but Overall rating: What a great festival, I loved it... the atmosphere was great, so lovely to see the children enjoying themselves. However, I just like to say to the organisers 1. The children were not always being given cash payments for collecting paper and plastic cups (apparently there was not enough money to pay them). 2. The music was FAR TOO LOUD .... my ears literally hurt, I had to stuff toilet paper in them so I could stay and enjoy some of the music at the main stage. 3. There were not enough bins on site and on occassions certain toilets were a little unsavoury. 4. I felt there could have been more traditional scottish, folk, world wide and alternative music at the main stage. One more point I really enjoyed the acoustic stage and the music participation tent at the edge of the event, more things like that please. Thank you for a fab weekend. Cathy | ||||||||||||||

 Kazanne Offline Points:14 Posts: 1 | Fab - our first ever music festival !!!! Overall rating: We were 'Festival Virgins' until Belladrum - but we'll certainly be back next year. Music was fantastic on all stages, the atmosphere in the camp sites and at the stages was very friendly - it almost seemed that any time we stopped or sat down someone would chat! My main reason for going was to see Albama 3 - they did not disappoint and were fantastic! All in all, this was a brilliant weekend and most definitely worth the money! Already looking forward to 2010!!!! | ||||||||||||||

steppsfordwif e Offline Points:16 Posts: 1 | Bella baby yeah! Overall rating: What a venue! Beautiful area and thankfully the sun shone all weekend. We camped in the quiet area and it was reasonably quiet but the fields were very hilly so many of the tents were on a slope, not the best for a good sleep or for cooking. The atmosphere was good. Really friendly and family orientated which made for a relaxed party feel to the whole event. Music was great, lots of different types to cater for every mood. Some pretty short sets on the main stage though. It would have been good to have a billboard somewhere with the event schedules on. I think I missed quite a lot because I didn't know the start times. Food and drinks were a bit of a rip off, they knew how to take advantage of a captive audience. The food on offer was of a high standard and I liked the fact there was local, organic and healthy food on offer as well as burger and chips! Overall I'd give it a 4/5 and would definitely go again. | ||||||||||||||

We arrived at 9am on the Friday morning and finding a pitch in the family camping area was a nightmare. We ended up on a slope and on very lumpy ground. Luckily we asked a steward where we could pitch (not knowing about the fire lanes) but it would have been helpful to have signs up - as I noticed a few tents were asked to move after they had set up camp. The atmosphere was great, the food stalls were pretty expensive - but it was great having a Co-op shop on site where the prices were what I expected for the venue. We did not know that you could buy programmes until the Saturday - at which point they were all sold out - so we missed alabama 3 and some other bands we wanted to see. This year we took a porta-potty (well recommended) so I can't comment on the toilets. The fireworks were amazing - infact the best I have ever seen!!! Apart from the lumpy, blood rushing to our heads camping pitch - we had a fab time. P.S Loved Rory Macleod and Ocean Colour Scene!!!! | ||||||||||||||

Another great line up from the headliners right down to a few gems at the potting shed. Although a sell out this year it never felt overcrowded or lost it's intimate family atmosphere.Fantastic weather. Looking forward to 2010 already. Highlights: All the headliners plus Aberfeldy,Glen tilbrook, Kid carpet, Highland youth big band, Alabama 3 and last but not least the headphone disco | ||||||||||||||

Nice to be directed to a site in the campervan field but did not like the stewards attitude when I told him I has an awning to put up and was far too close to my pals van to allow this. Practically had to move in with neighbours to sort out space. Toilets same as every other festival so can't complain, do what they say on packet. The size of fest was good and whilst I appreciate its a 'family' fest, the brats hassling innocent adults should have been kept on a lease not the dogs!! There comes a point kids should be in bed and not forced by their parents to be held up asleep and madeto dance....if you want to let your hair down and fun then leave kids at home??? Wizard and Wickerman are both for families but did not see annoying brats kicking, fighting and generally being irritating. By the way my friends do have kids so I'm not inexperienced in what I say and they agree. Usual over-priced beer but whats new and the food nothing exciting....same old same old. Veggie stew? Mashed tatties with a couple of cubed carrots and onion...not exciting or worth £4. Didn't really see much bands but thats no big deal, just go for the vibe. Definitely take a tazer gun for anybody under 4 feet high that think pushing and pulling at my parrot friend was funny and leaving him lying on the ground.....also why did every teenager look and act like they had stepped out of the 'Skins' set? Hope Mummy and Daddy were looking after their drug intake... Although thisounds very negative I did enjoy myself...certain things, prices,etc ccannot be avoided. All in all it was god fun but I'd recommend the Wickerman (still family do) before this one. Would go back mainly because its a festival, not too far a drive in comparison to others but only if no other festivals on at same time | ||||||||||||||

Overall rating: this was our first visit to belladrum and we had a great time. myself and hubby and our 3 kids- we felt the staff were very kind and helpful, we camped on a hill but it was fine, we just slept with our feet on the downslope!!! loved the fact there was loads for the kids, loads of cool stuff to buy at the stalls, good variety of food and entertainment. my fave was the healan area, got a fantastic head massage whilethe kids got faces painted!!! cool! | ||||||||||||||

Overall rating: This is our 3rd year and upgraded from tenting to caravanning it, (what a luxury) Really enjoyed all the things for kids to do!!Could maybe have some more music child orientated! Major complaint LACK OF BINS,I am sure there could be a few skips placed around campsite, and some bottle banks ,most people I know and have spoken to agreed that this was a problem. Also why was there no food hall this year , we really liked it before!!! Role on next year, !! | ||||||||||||||

Peatbogs were amazing as always and thoroughly enjoyed orkestra del sol. Great things for the kids to do - and grown ups. Had no probs getting a decent camping space near the toilets - my only gripe was they started emptying and refilling the toilets at 6am in the morning!!!! Food expensive as at anything like this with a captive audience. But all in all would definatley return next year! | ||||||||||||||

I have to say though that wading through discarded food wrappers and other rubbish ruined this event for me, and I would not come back again or recommend it just because of that. The Highlands are a stunning place, this event seemed to send out the message that its OK to just chuck rubbish down anywhere, a real shame. | ||||||||||||||

Gezz Offline Points:20 Posts: 1 | Gezz Overall rating: Our first Bella and it was fantastic, arrived early Thursday so got first pick of camping site, had a great time with my grankids, loads to do, had a massage too, music was excellent, finished up with Seth Lakeman and fireworks, brilliant, made most of our own food and took our own drink wich we had at our campsite, staff were very friendly and helpfull, will definately be back next year. | ||||||||||||||
