This exhibition is open everyday from 1 Sept to 23 Sept

This September Ripon Cathedral will be hosting the prestigious Great North Art Show, which will feature over 250 pieces of work by some of the UKs finest contemporary painters, printmakers and photographers. Artists include Claire Milner, who creates glittering portraits from thousands of tiny Swarovski crystals, and Yorkshire painter Emerson Mayes, whose paintings have recently been purchased by the House of Lords for their collection. Also taking part are a trio of world class photographers: Michael Dunne former apprentice to Cecil Beaton, Paul Berriff, known for his iconic shots of the Beatles and documentary photographer Paul Harris.

The 2012 Great North Art Show opens on Saturday 1 September until Saturday 23rd September. Entry to the Cathedral is free and all paintings are for sale. There will also be plenty of other activities surrounding this years show including an art trail throughout the historic city of Ripon and an artist led workshop programme.
