Lineup and details for Phillip Goodhand-Tait & Dave The Rave - 'Age of Bewilderment' Tour on Thursday 29th March 2012
Phillip Goodhand-Tait (www.pg-t.com) is a singer/songwriter with a string of hits to his credit. He began his professional career in the 1960s with his band, The Stormsville Shakers. They were regulars on the legendary Ricky Tick circuit and Londons Flamingo and Marquee clubs. They also toured and recorded with Larry Williams (Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Bony Moronie) and guitar giant, Johnny Guitar Watson. Phillip went on to write hit songs for Love Affair (Bringing On Back the Good Times, A Day Without Love and One Road,) as well as providing songs for Gene Pitney (You Are, Oceans away), Zoot Money (No One but You), Dennis Waterman (I Will Glide), Roger Daltrey (Leon, Parade, Oceans Away) and many other artists. He also wrote the music for cult films (Universal Soldier and Ackenfield) as well as recording solo albums for DJM Records and Chrysalis. During the late-1980s he produced "live-in-concert" music programmes for television and now records for Span TV, touring regularly in Germany and Holland.
David Sherrington is a writer, saxophonist and arranger. He began his career as a professional musician with the Stormsville Shakers before taking a degree course and writing music for the theatre, radio and television. His session playing and inventive arranging have earned him a well-deserved reputation as a musical director and he has worked with Sarah Miles ( Ryan's Daughter, The Servant, Blow Up) and many touring American R 'n' B stars. He was the principal arranger for Phillips recent albums (Ricky-Tick 40 years on and The Last Laugh). Throughout his life, David has also enjoyed a reputation as an engaging raconteur whose wit would charm and amuse colleagues and audiences alike. Some of his thoughts on modern living and hilarious anecdotes are contained in his first book, "Age of Bewilderment" (www.BwildR.net), widely acclaimed as a warm-hearted and quirky view of life in the 21st Century. A mean sax player, a witty writer and a world-class grouch. Arthur Smith
