Lineup and details for Kindred Spirit Concert on Saturday 25th February 2012
Things are hotting up for Kindred Spirit. Following a successful Fire and Magic tour and Weyfest appearance in 2011, Kindred Spirit have two wonderful new band members and are planning some cracking concerts in 2012. It is even rumoured they might be supporting the Strawbs! Dont miss this electrifying band at Cranleigh Arts Centre
for their February concert.
What they say about Kindred Spirit:-
Elaine Samuels and her Kindred Spirit band have performed to great acclaim at numerous prestigious venues including the famous Cavern Club, in Liverpool, on TV and radio as well as at large festivals such as Glastonbury and Guildford. The band are particularly known for Elaine's haunting and beautiful vocals, powerful, "perceptive and intriguing" original material and the two fantastic lead instrument players, who perform breathtaking solos and thrilling improvised duels, live on stage! They have the fabulous Annie Parker on flute, saxophone and whistle, who has been compared to Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, for her extraordinary rock flute playing and are now joined by the wonderful Phil Martin on electric violin, electric guitar and superb vocals. Phil has introduced a much less frantic and beautifully melodic feel to the band sound, which fans are liking! They also have cheeky new drummer and percussionist, David Rowe, who is very talented and versatile, having a classical drumming background.
Good songs and an ability to make folk and rock standards seem fresh. - Colin Randall, Daily Telegraph
One of the best undiscovered folk / acoustic acts doing the rounds ... discover with haste. - Sean McGhee, RockNReel
At Cranleigh Arts Centre the full band will be performing in the wonderful Jack Wagg Hall with support from the amazing Chapman Stick player, Andrew Prince so expect a wonderful experience!
