Review of Amanda Rheaume
Positive and upbeat with good explanation of the though process behind the self penned songs. Venue though normally rated as outstanding was verry cold and Amanda worked to to make an inclusiver performance supported by two very able musicians with a good rapport between them.

Review of Amanda Rheaume
Not having been to The Convent before we were amazed at what an unusual venue it was and impressed at what Matt, the owner, is managing to create from the building. We were given a very friendly welcome by another Matt on arrival who told us a lot about the building and what they were trying to do in the future. The concert in The Chapel, despite being somewhat cold, was wonderful and we really enjoyed watching and listening to Amanda and her accompanists, both who were excellent. Amanda herself had a brilliant voice and was full of energy and fun and her little stories preceding each song were lovely. The only criticism would be that we couldn't hear all the words to her songs, maybe because of the backing music being just a little loud, otherwise an extremely different and enjoyable evening. We will certainly visit again.

Review of Amanda Rheaume
Playing as a trio, Guitar/Pedal Steel, Amanda on acoustic and a bass guitarist. Amanda has a great voice and a good rapport with the audience. Played music from all three albums and gave a bit of background info on some of the tracks. Sound mix was excellent and everything was clear with nothing been drowned out. Bass player (who must have been half frozen) was awesome great sound, she wasn't in the back just holding a bass line but really up front and sounded amazing, they had to drums so she had to be a bit more up front but great. Pedal steel always a great instrument to hear and did not disappoint. All in all great music in a superb venue, only downside was it was pretty darn chilly in there, if you are going in the winter months make sure you dress for an outside event though it is inside. Those nuns must have been tough!

Review of Ana Popovic
Brilliant band! Ana is a really, really great guitarist, with a first rate band, and strong material.
The venue is stunning, and staffed by very enthusiastic, friendly staff. Unfortunately, the chapel, where the bands perform, was extremely cold, and the acoustics in the middle of the room were mushy. I understand both problems are being addressed, as it is still relatively early days. I would definitely go back!

Review of Ana Popovic
Ana's guitar playing was incredible but she was sadly let down by a terrible venue. The venue looks good but was bitterly cold which detracted from the enjoyment of the music and staff couldn't seem to care less, just laughing it off. Surely it wouldn't have been too difficult to have bought a few heaters for what is afterall a relatively small capacity venue so wouldn't have taken much to make the temperature a little more bearable? Or sent an email to tick*t holders to warn them to bring extra layers? The sound was also very disappointing, the vocals could barely be heard and for a large part of the gig neither could the saxophone. Thankfully Ana's guitar was loud and clear. It's a shame because I saw Joe Louis Walker here in the summer and he was fantastic.

Review of Ana Popovic
The venue was like walking into an Avengers set. Very quirky and interesting but very cold for the audience and band. The acoustics were very poor or may be the mix was bad. Very difficult to hear the vocals and lead guitar. A disappointment reflected by the audience and sensed by the band.
Review of The Convent Community Choirs Christmas Concert
We were fantastic Charlotte and Matthew, thank you for everything.
All our hard work paid off with you teaching us all year, what an end to our term at choir and a great end to the year.
My family were so proud of me and all of our choir, and are always impressed with how good our choir sounds men and womens.
Here's to this years concerts Charlotte.
Brilliant concert, and fantastic choir, all in all 100% I think.
Review of New Years Eve at The Convent
£75 a ticket for a buffet. Lovely food but only one glass of champagne. No fireworks. No heating!!! Absolutely freezing. Quite low numbers. Better to have sold more tickets at i.e. £50 and fill the place up. Wouldnt recommend to friends.

Review of The Convent Community Choirs Christmas Concert
A lovely evening! - some of the solos in the first half of the evening covering music from Les Miserables struggled. However, the second half of the performance was super, with a mix of non-traditional pieces. I particularly enjoyed the male voices singing in swahili which was excellent. Another highlight was the performance of a piece written by the conductor herself which felt accomplished and was particularly moving - plenty of 'eye dabbing' was evident. Well done The Convent Community Choir!
