‘Blackbody Vol. II' is the eagerly anticipated second instalment in what's shaping up to be an exceptional trilogy of EPs from Glaswegian band The Lava Experiments. Following up the first volume, released last year, this next 5 track collection represents a further exploration and maturation in the band's sound, while also being their first release on rising imprint Hanamuke.
Scheduled for release 31st August with an official launch gig Fri 4th Sept at Nice n Sleazy (Glasgow), ‘Blackbody Vol.II' builds upon the innovative sound initially hinted at with Vol. I, with 5 new tracks of gorgeously haunting and emotional shoegaze / melodic post-rock served up with a live and up-front flavour. Skilfully crafting together both acoustic and processed electric guitar before infusing with some exceptionally sombre synth and live bass along side engaging vocals, The Lava Experiments have put together an EP that is both melancholic and poignant in equal measure.
