Review of Friction Burns
I’m going to be honest and say I came for the burlesque because we don’t get many burlesque opportunities in Edinburgh. The burlesque was AMAZING but the poetry was absolutely amazing and will definitely come back to another show.

Review of Never Forgotten
I know it was about remembrance but felt it was a bunch of mediocre poets absorbed in self grief. Very depressing and at some points weird. Would have preferred more music. Enjoyed poet who previously worked in a hospital. Cramped room with noise from bar. Very uncomfortable seating. So glad it was free would have been raging if i had paid. An experience not to be repeated
Review of Kyle Falconer New Year Eve Special
I felt like I had paid money to watch suportbands. I have followed the view for many years and kyles solo stuff second time he had only played 20 minutes. Didn’t care about the crowd at all!

Review of Mike Joyce (The Smiths) plus guests
The event me and my friend attended did not look like an event at all. It was hosted in a pub but there was no one at the door to check tickets and the DJ set was just in a room with a laptop. We stayed for one pint and then left. I cannot see why anyone would want to spend almost £10 on what turned out to be a non-event.

Review of Bez (Happy Mondays) plus guests
I was a little annoyed when I got there to find out that they were charging £5 on the door, what's the point in buying an advanced ticket at £10 when you could get in cheaper in the door?? Surely advance should mean cheaper???

Review of Bill Ryder Jones
This was an amazingly intimate gig in a small but atmospheric venue. Whilst Bill Ryder Jones music & songs can definitely be described as introspective there is a real human touch to his performance both in the way he has light Scouse banter with the crowd and also in the at times intensely personal delivery of his tracks. There were some early sound issues but they were quickly ironed out. I'm glad we were near the front as a couple of folk at the back seemed to talk a lot & Bill politely reminded them that this can be annoying for other gig goers.
The highlights of his set for me were Seabirds, Daniel, Wild Roses, Bill's passionate cover of Love will tear us apart & the finale of Two to Birkenhead.
Even had a little blether with him in the bar at the end of his show and Bill was very approachable & friendly. All in all it was a great night in what was a top weekend of live music for me as I also had the pleasure of seeing Kraftwerk live at the Usher Hall on Saturday & that was a spectacular night of both music & stunning visuals.
I would definitely go & see Bill Ryder Jones again & I look forward to his next record coming out!

Review of Bill Ryder Jones
It is a rare occurrence to hear an artist who makes you stop in your tracks and just listen.
The combination of the beautiful melancholic music and the intimate setting of the venue made for a captivating evening.

Review of Chris Helme (The Seahorses)
1st support had a good voice and music ok but he wouldnt connect with his audience which he needs to do to get them on board. Second support well, least said sbout that the better. Chris was good but kept us waiting too long while he had his boozy dinner down the road. Would have to think carefully before i went there again. Also one of the managers split drink fown the back of my leg and on my new shoes. But he managed to bring a napkin snd wipe the floor :(
