Lineup and details for 6 Nations Rugby Cinema Night: Play On on Tuesday 13th March 2012
Its not too widely known, but Eric Liddell, the man immortalised in the Oscar award-winning film 'Chariots of Fire', also played rugby for Edinburgh University, and in 1922 & 1923 played on the wing for Scotland in seven international matches, scoring tries in two of them.
To celebrate the 110th anniversary of Eric Liddell's birth, his Olympic success and this year's 6 Nations Rugby Championship, the Edinburgh based charity, Eric Liddell Centre are holding a charity screening of the movie 'Play On' (2010).
Put on your rugby shirt and bring the family to watch the first 6 Nations Rugby Cinema Night, screening the feel-good rugby film 'Play On', featuring many recognisable Scottish rugby places and people.
Beer and snacks are included, a raffle and 6 Nations Championship Q & A session hosted by STV's Caroline Henderson with special panel guests including Gavin Hastings and other Scottish rugby legends.
About 'Play On'...
Released on the internet only in 2010, 'Play On' is a gritty, rugby movie about the clash between a staunchly amateur, ex-Scottish rugby legend father and his greedy-for-fame-and-money son. When the sons drive for fame and money collides with his quest for love and respect from his critical father, things get ugly...
