Love Song for the City
Conductor, Nicholas Collon leads the orchestra in a characteristically eclectic programme charting a course from violence and destruction to rebirth, and the vibrancy of urban life. The desolate post-war German cities of Strauss Metamorphosen give way to the dizzying growth of modernNew Yorkas imagined by Michael Gordon inGotham. The programme is completed by a virtuosic new chamber arrangement evoking the flavour of the originalWest Endpit-band instrumentation of West Side Story. This concert is streamed to Gala live from Camden Roundhouse.
