Just close your eyes and dream away to the 60 and 70s rock, listening to an energetic band with a groove you can not stand still to. You will be filled with the feeling that clearly we can move mountains if we help each other. The Brimstone Days, shortened TBD, is a band from Malmö with a target set on becoming a great live act, a goal which they have already reached.
The start of the bands crooked path begins in the aftermath of an Australia Tripp. After a year of travel was Hakan Lanz and John Malmqvist back home, but soon began the boredom to take over. They decided that they needed to do something about it and started the blues/rock duo Blue Windmills. A sound was created and the streets of Lund was uncertain of spontaneous music.
But something was missing for the band to feel complete. Bassist Elias Dellow joined the band, now renamed The Brimstone Days. Power trio took influences from 60 and 70s music, and from bands like Jimi Hendrix, Free and Led Zeppelin. The year 2009 the first ep Flowers and Rainbows was released, followed by a series of gigs in the Malmo-Lund region.
After the Flowers and Rainbows arrival on the music market, Elias Dellow quit the band and the remaining members had to find a new bass player. Hampus Hallgard joined the band, first as a stand-in, but soon became a permanent member. Håkan and Johannes found that Hampus was a major contribution both on and off stage because of hes impact on both the bands music and groove. The members are listening to all sorts of music within the band, but what unites them is the 60 and 70s rock, this mixture make songwriting more vibrant and this contributes to the unique sound that is The Brimstone Days. With new energy and a fully booked summer gig, the band went into the studio in April 2010 to prepare their first full length album.
With the motto We are here to turn your day for the better for its listeners, the band released their debut album We Are The Brimstone Days in November 2010. At a sold out release party in central Malmö you could enjoy the best gig of the year, a crowded dance floor and a balloon drop from The Brimstone Rainbow. As Malmös most prolific live bands they made the same year, 35 gigs in Sweden (including KB and Debaser in Malmö, Sweden), Denmark and Germany. It has also so far released three entertaining and self-produced music videos.
The Brimstone Days is one of the most unique bands in Sweden with their happy rock that draws the listener into their sound and puts a smile on their face. With an audience close approach and a message of love for each other your thoughts travels to the 70s. The band has made a successful flirtation with the motto of peace, love & understanding that in their music feels modern and full of energy. The band always gives 100% on stage and they love to play live. Make sure to see them at a gig near you, you will not regret it .
