In late 2006 Hijak self produced their debut album, "Hijak Oscar" which has sold over 400 copies in the UK with absolutely no distribution or label deals helping them along the way. Throughout 2006-2007 Hijak Oscar have performed several times live on BBC Radio York, and have recently powered through the early stages of the mobileAct unsigned competition for Channel 4. This will only spread the music faster and farther than could ever be imagined by a band spawned in the musical graveyard of the North.
