Lineup and details for Frank Hamilton + The Telephones + Lucy Milford + on Tuesday 14th October 2008
The Telephones
Formed in Derby in 2006 bring you a mix of
bluesy-folk-rock-country-pysch pop tunes, ready to fill your brains
with stuff and nonsense, while we give your aching souls the melodies
they long for!! They have played around the UK supporting the likes of
John Power, The Troubadours, Six nation state and Mark Morriss from The
Bluetones.
Frank Hamilton
At just 22 Frank Hamilton has had a busy 2007. He released a couple of
singles, got played by Edith Bowman on Radio One, was dubbed the Mike
Skinner of folk by Music Week had his latest single feature as XFMs
record of the week.
Friday Nights was the second release on Franks DIY label and
demonstrates exactly why a buzz has centered around the Cambridge born
wordsmith. Penned after several messy nights in a pub where he and
several other musical type folk (including Newton Faulkner & Nick
Harrison) drank their student loans away, it was added to the XFM
playlist upon the first mention of its release and encompasses
everything that people love about Frank Hamilton and his music.
On nights when the joys of a full band and female eye candy arent
available Frank performs alone. Such nights have developed a reputation
for delivering something special. Armed with just a guitar, harmonica,
some choice words and a loopstation, the quality and relevance of the
songs is able to shine through even more.
Hamiltons success should be assured the moment the world hears how acutely his songs translate the real magic of love - The Fly
