IME Music’s Derby Battle of the Bands is in the Semi-Final stage.

The competition aims to put the spotlight on the Derby music scene and give the local bands exposure and hopefully reach new audiences. There are two sections one is for 18s and under and one for 18s and over. Heat two for 18s and over features…

SOS - A mixture of Funk/Rock/Indie.

Interstellar Burst - An energetic three piece specializing in intense aggressive music, and well renowned for their full on live performances.

BlindSight - Mixing the best elements of classic thrash, hardcore and nu-metal, Blindsight have created a sound which can only be described as ’IlsonHardcoreMetal’! They pride themselves on stomping metal grooves, infectious lyrics and mach speed guitar solos that will melt your face off! With a dynamic stage presence and a loud abrasive performance, Appearing at BLOODSTOCK 2007 has been Blindsights biggest show to date, Playing alongside IN FLAMES, ARCH ENEMEY, LACUNA COIL, TESTAMENT, NEVERMORE and many others.

Edison - In a humble garage near the city of Derby, the 4 members of Edison armed with guitars, drums and mics have been not so quietly preparing for their escape into the unsuspecting world of gig-goers...

Spider Bridge Island - Formed mid-2007 featuring wonderful harmonies and well-crafted piano parts. Spider Bridge Island delivers a brand of rock n' roll like nothing you have heard before.

The show is Thursday 29th May 2008, 47-49 Abbey Street, Derby, DE22 3SJ. Entry is £3 - The show is for age 14+ and doors will open at 7.30PM. You must arrive before 8.00PM to get a voting form as they are only given out until the first band hits the stage.
