Friday 2nd March:
Goy Boy McIlroy are four lads at the back end of their twenties that should know better, but yet are so deluded by a false feeling of grandeur that they brush forward their thinning hair, suck in their guts and continue being one of the north east's most exciting alt blues bands. Sounding like The Doors on steroids their songs are dark and aggressive but with a whiff of the Mississippi Delta. Live they are awkward and energetic, but still enticing to watch like your dad dancing at your sisters wedding.
Modern, yet retro sounding these self-deprecating, avant-garde and edgy bunch of scamps have been described as everything that is wrong with music, but if it is true that the guitar band is dead then why shouldn't they dance on his grave? With Support from Thieves and the Mckews and with DJ Curly in the bar a night of music to remember!
