Lineup and Details for Americana Music and Dance Evening on Thu 5th July 2012
Brasstown Dancers and their musicians are from the John C Campbell Folk School, a well known folk centre in North Carolina. Their performances includes both American and English styles of dancing. The group have had strong links with English Morris dance sides (teams) for over twenty years. This is their second visit to North Yorkshire and County Durham where they are guests of two local dance groups. "Richmond on Swale Morrismen" and "Blacksheep Morris" of Barnard Castle. Both of these English groups have paid return visits to North Carolina over the past few years.
Evening to include Morris dancing outside (subject to weather), clog dancing, The Dog Branch Cats performance followed by Contra and Square dancing called by Bob Dalsemer.
