Through My Eyes - A photographic Exhibition listings

TPAs exhibition: Through My Eyes is not only an aesthetic delight, with beautiful and emotive images of daily life in South African townships, but it traces the poignant story of a small group of children growing up there. The photographs in this exhibition were taken by students of the South African NGO, Ikamva Youth, an organisation that works hard to raise the standards of education across the country. The exhibition will be on show between the 11th and the 15th of February, and open freely to the public between 10am and 3pm.

Ikamva Youth, whose motto is The Future is in our hands, focuses on empowering youth through education, e-literacy training and career guidance. As part of their mission they run creative workshops to provide important and new opportunities for students to unleash their talents. They explain that: The arts are a vital part of any holistic education and the impact of these opportunities on our learners self-esteem is clearly evident.
