Teams of four are locked into Chelmsford Prison for 5 minutes before the doors open at 9am and teams race off on their preplanned route. Teams compete to get as far away as possible in 15 hours, without spending any money or breaking the law!

In its 33rd year and is a lot of fun - people have gone a very long way (including Copenhagen, Italy and Burma) by some very strange means (including running round in circles with a hospital bed) and wearing some very silly fancy dress (including prison garb and flying pigs)! At midnight, teams must get someone sensible to confirm their destination (one team went as far as to get 'arrested' by friendly Swedish policemen to prove where they were!).

This year, since it's on the Queen's actual birthday, our first team has signed up with plans to cycle to Buckingham Palace to deliver a birthday card!
