Lineup and details for CockRock 2009 on Friday 17th July 2009

CockRock 2009 - 17th, 18th & 19th July
Imagine a place where age, sex, race, colour of your skin, religion, politics and even wealth count for nothing.
Then imagine a place surrounded by natural beauty where music is played in its most raw and pure form, by artists who just want to perform.
If you can do this, it may be that you have just imagined CockRock, as we were in the beginning and as we will be in the end......
Cockock is a non profit festival, held at Wellington Farm Cockermouth, which has fantastic panoramic views of the stunning Cumbrian fells.
The festival is now in its fourth year and help's provide support in the way of funding for two local causes, the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue. CockRock also aims to encourage artists as well as to provide opportunities for young musicians, helping them to further their musical ambitions
The festival draws together a great mix of music, with the best selection of local talent as well as many great bands from further afield. CockRock aims to showcase the best in new music as well as to incorporate fantastic established bands.
CockRock 2009 will see over 125 phenomenal bands and DJ's play on the 7 stages across the weekend.
The Saturday headliner has been revealed as The Holloways!
The Holloways join the CockRock 2009 line up following a generous offer of sponsorship from P & R Benn, Cockermouth.

Chairman Clint Stamper said "We are very grateful for P & R Benn's support and are delighted to add The Holloways to an already very exciting line up, I'm sure they will bring a fantastic buzz to the festival. CockRock is all about bringing talented bands and musicians together from the local area and from further a field to give them a platform to showcase their music.
We feel that this is natural progression for CockRock and will not only increase the festivals publicity but will also give us new platforms to help further promote all of the other fantastic 125 + bands in the line up".
Friday's headliner has been confirmed as The Shallow Call who will be playing ‘The SiZe Sessions at CockRock' on the Slingshot Stage.

The Shallow Call have played with bands such as Reverend & the Makers, the Enemy and The Paddingtons. They were invited by The Charlatans to support them on their Manchester dates and their debut release 'Frank Bruno' was named Single of The Week by Radio 1's Steve Lamacq, subsequently making his Top 10 singles of the year.
Sundays Headliner has been confirmed as Max Raptor.

Fronted by Wil Ray fronts the 4 piece rock/ punk, whip-crack of a band with agitated vocals and fast guitars. You can almost see the chains when they play. Like their music they're tethered but frenzied, It's high energy, well thought out and most importantly, believable.
After forming in 2007 they have toured the Country and picked up loyal legions of Raptor followers from the four corners of the U.K playing Club NME, HMV showcases with the likes of Cage the Elephant, Oceansize, Mystery Jets, Hot Club de Paris, Frank Turner, Captain, Black Sabbath's Toni Iommi and Kerrang!
