We are absolutely delighted to announce that the indie-dance loving summer festival Cardiff Calling will be returning to the glorious greens of Coopers Field, Bute Park (Cardiff) for a 2nd unmissable day of live music, DJs and festival fun on Bank Holiday Saturday 25th August. As part of the Metro Weekender (together with dance all-dayer South West Four), which launched so spectacularly in 2006, Cardiff Calling will offer another roguish day of rock n roll in the company of some of the worlds biggest names as we look to sell-out for the second year in a row. Last years debut event mixed up heavyweight headliners like Snow Patrol, De La Soul and Badly Drawn Boy, with raw new talent such as Lily Allen and Jamie T, alongside dance legends including Josh Wink and James Lavelle. Plus we were rather chuffed to have picked up 2 nominations at the UK Festival Awards 2006 for Best One Day Festival and Best New Festival!!Cardiff Calling 2007 will be more of a straight up live bands affair, with a heavier emphasis on new and emerging Welsh bands across the 3 stages featuring for the first time ever, the Cardiff Calling Unsigned Arena. Our commitment to work alongside the local community will continue even more so this year as we look to build upon the success of 2006s awe-inspiring Metro Weekender and cement Cardiff Calling into the history books as a festival the good people of Cardiff can be proud to call their own

Headlining this summers Cardiff Calling festival and having the honour of closing the main stage will be the voice of todays youth generation, The Streets aka Mike Skinner. Having first broke onto the scene in 2002 from the ashes of UK garage with the pioneering album Original Pirate Material, The Streets followed up their Mercury Prize nominated debut with a No.1 selling second album, A Grand Dont Come For Free in 2004. This highly praised concept album took the South London outfit to a whole new level (3 million copies sold, plus multiple Brit and Ivor Novello awards), before album No.3; last years The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living album saw The Streets replace fiction with fact on their honest and frank tale of celebrity darkness confirming their status as one of the worlds most innovative and original artists.
