After a two year break the DECADANCE parties are back with a Bang! We return to the infamous superclub Club X in the heart of the Welsh capital for the second of our massive parties on Saturday 5th May. Last month saw the packed out launch with a crowd more up for some decadent fun than ever , the backroom was hotter than the hinges of hell!!
With an original promise to play cutting edge and upfront music with our infamous entertainment, our parties are set to be no different with a club transformation and a massive DJ line up including special guests alongside our popular DECADANCE residents.
For the new parties we are looking for innovative ways of introducing new musical talent to the Welsh Capital. DECADANCE podcasts are produced regularly and clubbers are invited to re-live nights through our Facebook page, just search for DECADANCE and LIKE our page.
For our next party headlining the DJ lineup is the Internationally acclaimed DJ Nick Denton (Trade, Federation, Afterfed, Coalition & Toolbox Records). Nick brings his style of funk-esque house and driving Tech beats. Nik has rapidly built himself a reputation for being one of the most in demand Manchester based DJs & Producers.
As a DJ, hes as versatile as you can be, from warm-up funk-esque to full on filth and everything in-between. To watch him deliver a set is akin to watching a craftsman take extreme pride and care to create the most intricate piece of contemporary art. Nik is a complete natural behind the decks as he delivers crowd pleasing performances, no matter the environment, or time; he has an almost supernatural ability to accurately read the minds and wants of his audience and a skill clearly learnt from watching and appreciating the first generation of hard-house DJs. No wonder then that Nik Dentons name appears on some of the biggest line-ups; 2008 saw appearances at the renowned Tidy Weekender, Vicious Circle nights, the Tony De Vit memorial night and of course Trade where he has been a resident for three years.
Off the decks, Nik is a prolific producer and astute businessman; his own award winning Toolbox Recordings was voted best label of 2008 and is a perfect vehicle to showcase his awesome production talent. Meanwhile as a promoter he has more than proved himself with the highly successful Coalition.
Alongside Nik will be Ross Homson (Aftershock, Coalition, Hooked, Afterfed & Toolbox Records), in recent years there have been very few artists on the House scene that can be linked to success as both DJ and Producer, but Ross Homson can do just that. Its been a dream journey so far but if you ask the man himself or take note of the hype that surrounds him this is only the beginning.
As a producer Ross features heavily in the wanted list from many of the big names. Farley, Stevens, Denton. JP & Jukesy are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to wanting fresh new material from this maestro and his signings to industry leading labels Toolbox & Fireball are a credit to this mans studio abilities. His discography to date reads as a modern day list of classics, with the huge Galvez Groove sitting at the top of the pile.
Other popular releases include Moose Knuckle, Agent Disco, Run for Cover, Ferkin Merkin and his Denton collaborated Self Control. Its easy to see why Stevens and JP & Jukesy named Homson as their best newcomer of 2009, an accolade mirrored in the BT 2009 awards when Ross won best newcomer (DJ) and runner up as best newcomer (Producer). Its no wonder he was asked to take over as label manager and head of A&R for Toolbox Choons in 2009, Ross Homson certainly has an ear for what people want to hear.
His solid studio productions undoubtedly help keep his DJ sets fresh and unique to many of the other DJs on the circuit and his tight mixing and ability to program a set to perfection cement him as a name to pull in the crowds to any event regardless of size or profile.
As well as his residencies at Coalition and Hookd Ross enjoys a busy DJ schedule and amongst other club nights has already worked his magic at Twist, Frantic, Requiem, Parlez Vouz and Rave On.
Decadance started as a brand of parties back in 2007. A night in a small bar in Bristol kick started our parties which expanded to South Wales and across the West of England. By 2010 the nights were held in Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea. If you have never been to a Decadance event or have thought about it but not got round to it then 2012 is going to be your year as Decadance re-launches at Club X, Cardiff.
You wanted your DECADANCE parties back; loads of you asked to bring back the fun to the capital, so we are! Cardiff will soon re-home Decadance back to where it called home between 2008 2010.
