Summer Saturnalia is a non-profit open-air Arts and Music festival based in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Yorkshire dales. It was founded in 2009 by a little group of amazing friends on an exciting quest for an exclusive and affordable festival, packed full of fun with high quality entertainment. And so, Summer Saturnalia was born!

Saturnalia has a unique and intimate vibe that you just dont find at commercial festivals and gives you an experience like nothing else. We have no commercial interests of any kind nor do we have any investment from outside sources. Organising Saturnalia is a joy for us and we love seeing the fun and frolics that occur along with all of the smiley faces created throughout the three-day event.

We aim to take the best creativity in arts and entertainment from our corner of England, select a few special guests from further afield, and give you a beautiful temporary home, for one magical long summer weekend.

We believe passionately in high quality live music; performances from exceptional musicians across a vast spectrum of genres and great record collections mixed by the best DJs. Thankfully, we find masses of this skill and variety on our doorstep, and have some great friends from around the globe to complete the talent.

Saturnalias volunteers and contributors have helped us to build on our non-profit ethos this year, which has allowed us to introduce an explosion of cross discipline arts. Guests can look forward to live art, installation pieces, film, daytime activities, contemporary theatre performances, comedy, dance and many other surprises.

Some amazing memories were created in 2010 and 2011, and now we look forward to our third year; with a cheeky twinkle in our eyes we invite you to come play with us at Summer Saturnalia 2012 - The Music Sounds Better With You.
