The spread of gun and knife crime in the UK is a deeply worrying trend that has claimed many – notably young black lives within the urban communities. Children, young people and those living in poor areas are more likely to be both the perpetrators and the victims.

How does the community tackle this issue? What preventatives measures are been done by stakeholder organisations? How do young people determine their future in this vicious cycle? What role does art play in communicating some of the issues? Hosted by the Drum in partnership with stakeholder organisations and key agencies across the city this event will examine and discuss issues and explore positive ways to reducing the current trends.
