The photography masterclass will take place on Saturday 31st May at the Currys.digital store in the Bullring,
Birmingham
to kick-off Currys nationwide digital photography initiative aimed to get the
UK
snapping and using their digital photography equipment to its full capacity. Digital photography ownership has seen a surge in popularity in recent years as people are now able to purchase high-quality equipment at increasingly affordable prices. Over 65% of
UK
households now own a digital camera or camcorder with over a third of these households owning more than one camera.
The in-store masterclass, hosted by TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, will aim to help locals hone their digital photography skills with professional tips and advice provided by experts from Currys and Panasonic. Locals are also being encouraged to bring in and enhance their own photos by taking advantage of the very latest
digital imaging technology in-store.
Launching in
Birmingham
, the masterclasses will then be rolled out to other major cities across the
UK
.By picking up expert tips at the masterclasses, members of the public will be well equipped to enter their best snaps into Currys’ nationwide photography competition: ‘Our Lives’. Members of the public can submit up to 20 photographs and five videos across five different categories, at a dedicated website www.currysourlives.co.uk.
The winning entries for the national competition will be rewarded with a set of fantastic prizes with the overall winner receiving a fortnight’s holiday for two to anywhere in the world, worth up to £10,000! Six runners-ups will also receive a Panasonic prize bundle including a top of the range camera and camcorder, to ensure they have the best kit to showcase their talents.
Lisa Snowdon, TV presenter and guest judge commented: “I’m really looking forward to the master-class where we’ll be giving locals some top tips to ensure they get the most from their photography. From my years of modelling experience I’ve developed a real interest in being on both sides of the lens and can’t wait to see the entries for the competition.”
The Birmingham Currys.digital store willalso be offering a 10% discount on all photography and video equipment in store on Sat 31st May so customers can get everything they needto take award-winning shots.
