Glasto fans heading south this weekend should keep their eyes peeled for some familiar faces - fantastic Edinburgh favourites The Ruffness have teamed up with acclaimed local singer songwriter Than (Nathaniel Slade) for their debut summer festival – Glastonbury!
 

Fans are in for a real treat: the boys are fresh out of the studio where they have been working on Than’s shiny new album, Heart Music Soul Music. This unique collaboration mixes the deep grooves of The Ruffness with Than’s earthy vocals, soulful guitar and songwriting that blends startling honesty with unnerving emotional power.

 
 “It'll be nice to take it back home,” Said Than, “Glastonbury's where I started, jumping the fence back in the day. Folk phone me up and give me tickets nowdays. Lovely! Anyway, come buy a record off me, or I guess if you jumped I'll have to give you one...".

 
The very earliest copies of the album, still warm from the press, will be delivered on Friday by armoured carrier pigeon to a secret location on the Glastonbury site. They will be available from the band at the performance, and at various other places of ill-repute. Downloads will also be available imminently.

Stay at home fans need not worry, they may miss the mud, they may miss that port-a-loo experience but the official Edinburgh Launch of Heart Music Soul Music will be announced shortly. Now that is unmissable! Great band, proper bogs, you name it...

 
Dave, Keyboard player from the Ruffness is upbeat about their plans. “We're really looking forward to playing the Tadpole stage, plus we'll be down there a few days early looking out for cancellations and opportunities. We're gonna' play any stage, in any field they let us!”.
