Review of Shamoli Restaurant Overall rating: 4.5   It was excellent to have the choice of either Thai or Indian as we like to eat both, we opted for Indian and really enjoyed what we had, we also were offered a complimentary drink at the end of our meal, which was a nice touch, cannot think of anything to fault this restaurant, it is really worth a visit. Dave and Jackie from Aberdeen for Indian and really enjoyed our meal, also complimentary drink at end of meal which was a nice touch would gladly recommend this restaurant , service and food was great,

Review of ASK Italian - Northampton Overall rating: 4.5   Lovely Friendly service, was fast without being rushed. Even better when I had a voucher for a second main meal for £2.50. Made for a lovely meal before we went to the theatre.

Review of Bella Italia - Norwich Exchange Overall rating: 5   We couldn't find a single fault with our 'Bella Italia' experience. Food wonderful, staff polite and friendly. They even didn't charge for my sweet as they only had one scoop of honeycomb ice cream left. It was plenty! Definitely another visit soon.

Review of Bella Italia - Northampton Overall rating: 4   Very nice staff, very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and starters and main were served with a good break in between. The atmosphere was great - fun Italian music and very nice decor. I would recommend this restaurant. My husband and I were celebrating our 23rd Wedding anniversary and had a really nice evening :-)

Its a factory churning out average food as fast as possible to as many tables as can be turned in one night. Italian in essence it is not. It will only go so far on Jamies name before people get sick of being mugged off. I won,t return and i was a fan.

The Spot Restaurant

Review of The Spot Restaurant Overall rating: 2   Well I spent a long time choosing the right restaurant for a night out in Bristol as we were coming from London and meeting my parents who were driving up fron Cardiff. We looked at the online a la carte menu and read the reviews which all seemed very positive. However, I could not book online as it reported to be sold out so I called them and they booked us in for 5.30, early I know but we had theatre tickets for 7.30. When we arrived we were the only people there and were told that the main restaurant menu that we had chosen from online was not available until 6pm (this was not stated online). We were then given a cheap looking poor bar menu with very little choice on, especially for vegetarians, as some of the party were. We decided to look at the other menu which was completely different from the one online and again had very little for us to choose from. Eventually we settled for something from the bar menu as we didnt have time to go anywhere else. When my partners pizza arrived it was burnt on the edge, with meat the looked and smelled and tasted like dog food. He refused to pay for it. The staff were not very happy. We left as soon as possible and will not be returning or recommending it. I have indeed written to complain to the general manager of the hotel.

Review of Jamie's Italian - Leeds Overall rating: 4.5   Jamies wine was the cheapest but very palatable. The Italian feast was a lovely lunch time option and quite reasonable at £15 a head. Staff were friendly and new the answers to our questions - like what sort of olive is this - that is a caperberry! Would definitely return.

Strada - Newbury

21-25 Market Place, Newbury

Review of Strada - Newbury Overall rating: 4.5   We went at 6.30pm on a Friday evening and we given a choice of tables, the atmosphere was pleasant a little on the quiet side perhaps. Our table was quite close to 2 other couples and it was very easy to hear their conversations which I didn't like. Waiters were attentive bringing drinks, olives and breads very promptly. We had a short wait for our main courses, the tables were cleared before placing the plates down. We asked for a jug of water and more drinks these were all delivered promptly and in a courteous manner. The food, I thought as did my companion, quite delicious and I would certainly return to Strada, Newbury. The ladies toilets were hygenic and well maintained. We were going to the Corn Exchange to see a show so thought the 120 yard walk very appropriate. The only delay when we asked for the bill it took a waiter over 5 minutes to come over with the chip and pin machine.
