What do they serve at Newcastle's Starters and Puds? There's a clue in the title... This restaurant offers a new concept in casual dining: why indulge in just one meal, when you can enjoy the best of two or three? Think of it as a bit like Spanish tapas; you order a selection of starter-sized dishes and then hit the dessert trolley. Your meal might consist of steamed mussels in lime and coriander, pork cassoulet and the surf 'n' turf. Desserts include sticky toffee pudding, banoffee pie cheesecake with a chocolate milkshake shot and a selection of four puds to really finish you off! Starters and Puds is housed next to the Theatre Royal, in the vaults of a former bank. Portions average at £4.70 per dish.
