Funkademia Case Study
Funkademia is Manchester’s longest running weekly club night, and they celebrated their 16th Birthday in 2011.
Every Saturday night over 600 clubbers dance to disco, funk, hip-hop and classic party tunes at Mint lounge in the heart of the Northern Quarter. The night sells out every week with queues forming from 11pm. The night has over 17,000 members.
After successfully selling tickets through Skiddle.com for 12 months, Funkademia approached us in 2008 as they were having a new website built and wanted an option to include tickets within the site.
Ticket Shop
Skiddle developed a ticket widget for them that was easy for the Funkademia web developer to use, resulting in all of their tickets being listed on their own site. This code can be adapted very easily and styled in line with the website it is sitting on. The ticket page is then automatically updated whenever tickets are placed on/off sale on Skiddle
This resulted in a considerable increase in sales as customers didn’t need to leave the Funkademia website to buy tickets to jump the queues on the night.
Funkademia works alongside Skiddle with the following services
- Ticket shop
- Facebook app
- Mobile Phone app
- Direct Marketing
- Live sales data and analysis
“Since we started working with Skiddle we have seen a dramatic increase of ticket sales. We find the ticket shop on the site very useful as we heavily market the website and we like to keep our customers on the site with interviews, mixes, news as well as the option of buying tickets”
David Payne, Funkademia
