PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO THE WICKERMAN FESTIVAL

Public transport has changed, and is by far one of the best ways to arrive at The Wickerman Festival - the shuttle bus drop off point is right by the main entrance into the campsite - so not far to walk!

It is also a lot better for the environment, helps reduce congestion at the festival and is a lot cheaper than you might think! With a shuttle bus direct from the nearest railway station (Dumfries) to The Wickerman Festival you can find your way with a hop, skip and a jump right from your house to your tent.

Dumfries railway station is just a short connection from Carlisle, which is on the West Coast Mainline, with excellent connections from the North and South of the country, you could be at The Wickerman Festival in no time at all!

TRAIN FARES

A return train ticket from Carlisle to Dumfries costs £12.80 for an adul tor £21.80 for 2 adults and 2 children with a family rail card.

A standard return train ticket from Glasgow to Carlisle costs £44 return for an adult however if you buy two single tickets you can get this for as cheap as £12.50 return!

With a family rail card, 2 adults and 2 children will cost £74.80 for a standard return from Glasgow to Carlisle, however if buying 2 single tickets this could be as cheap as £21.50!

A standard return from Preston to Carlisle costs £33.30 for an adult however if you buy 2 singles this can be as cheap as £14 return!

With a family rail card a standard return ticket from Preston to Carlisle costs £56.70 for 2 adults and 2 children however buying 2 singles in advance could cost as little as £23.80 for the whole family.

Best price refers to buying two single tickets with prices available as of 15th May 2009. 90% of the time it is cheaper to buy two single tickets. Carlisle is a West Coast main line station with easy connections to Dumfries. Shuttle bus times are set based on connections to Dumfries railway station, with the bus waiting until the connecting train has arrived. We are in regular communication with national rail and the shuttle bus driver to ensure safe passage for Wickerman Festival customers!
