The festival site has been positively transformed into a bustling hub of activity and merriment in just a matter of minutes, as hours, weeks and months of preparation finally begins to pay off. The site is awash with more talking points and oddities than ever, as new installations and revamped previous focal points amaze the fans.

The infamous head of Jimmy Carr

Facebook and Twitter have been heaving with potential festival goers bemoaning the fact that the have missed out on Wickerman tickets, as this morning saw the last few entries sold, closing the shop for this year. With so much hype in particular surrounding this years edition, it’s been inspiring to see the end result. Once on site, you realise just why this festival holds such a place in people’s hearts.

With the eateries setting up last night, this morning saw last minute adjustments and rapid work before the droves of eager festival goers enter the grounds.

With a huge queue of vehicles waiting to enter the site as soon as it opened, within in no time at all the eerily empty campsite, later the amusement areas, and bars begin to come into their own. The festival is filled with smiling faces, young and old, as well as families - a genuine cross section of fun loving, good natured fans, a demographic that Wickerman has always appealed to, and will continue to entice.

The Starwood Bar

With the acoustic tent now looking magical, the Starwood Bar acting like a true woodland drinkery, the Main Stage chocker with stunning light equipment and high tech sound, the Em-It stage looking swisher than ever, the Skiddle arena as thrillingly bizarre as possible, and the Reggae Tent sending out some serious low end action, things are well and truly coming to life.. And the festival hasn’t even technically started yet!

We’ll be back to let you know how it goes tomorrow, as all the stages and tents fill with the long awaited arrival of the Wickerman 2013 line up.
