Welcome to Bass Camp at The Wickerman Festival

With the summer fast approaching and The Wickerman Festival just around the corner, you may have heard some talk about Bass Camp - The Wickerman Festival's own little dance village which runs well into the early hours.

With two huge big tops, an outdoor funk stage, chill out space and bar not to mention the Skiddle Bus debut - The Wickerman Festival is a great event for those after some all night dance action, away from the corporate sponsorships and cattle market treatment the larger dance events have to offer.

The Skiddle tent takes you on a musical adventure through some of the many genres that we have promoted through the years. Saturday night is still firmly under wraps, however for those looking for some dubs and drums action what a treat we have in store. From legendary heavyweights Fabio through to fresh faced upstarts Bail we have some real musical treats to open the weekend. You can read all about it here.

Along with Skiddle's tent, U & A Recordings have taken over the Wickermans long standing breaks tent. The tent will feature some of the best in underground and up and coming artists from across the country and beyond - The full spine-tingling U&A Recordings lineup features Zodiac Cartel, who has been in hot demand recently remixing for Moby, along with Lee Coombs and Circuit Freq, theres a simple ethos of "Jackin house with a techno soul" to entrance the masses. Full details on the U&A tent can be found here!

For a slighty lighter approach to the daytime, we welcome back Manchester's longest running clubnight, Funkademia is a chronological history of soul with our dj collective taking you on a journey through four decades of the very best soul, funk, disco and hip-hop with a touch of smooth r&b and some big house classics. This takes part in our hotdog disco, parked up outside for some seriously laid back sunshine action.

No dance village would be complete without a bar serving up a fine selection of bottled drinks to see the day through, and 2010 sees the introduction of our chill out zone where even the hardiest of dance floor soldiers can kick back, relax and discuss lifes little merits.

Finally the Skiddle Bus will be in full show allowing you to update your weekend manouveres right from the field. More news on that soon...

Bass Camp takes place at The Wickerman Festival on Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th July 2010.

Tickets are on sale now priced £85 for the weekend.
