End of the month payday vibes! Splurge it ALL on going out.

Festivals

Fancy Bestival for free? Best enter our epic fancy dress competition then, and we're also giving away tickets to Lytham Festival. Elsewhere Aviemore Stopover and Leeds' The Garden Party both finalised aspects of their line up, and we had a look at the history of Weyfest down in Surrey.

Weekends Matter August 2015 - Guest Mix Futuristic Polar Bears by Skiddle on Mixcloud

We had a proper good time at MADE this weekend, and on top of that Futuristic Polar Bears helm our August podcast (above), which is the last we'll do this year all about festivals (sniff sniff).

Clubs

We're behind the Bass Music Awards again this year - place your votes here. We asked DJ Q about his A-Z of garage, got misty eyed about 2ManyDJs' legendary Soulwax mix and started a brand new mix series featuring live sets; first up is Late Nite Tuff Guy

Other news of note is the return of A-Wing with Bondax for Halloween, Tine Tempah's Disturbing Ibiza pool parties, and Disclosure's brilliant new video. And please help find the legendary reggae bastion DJ Derek.

Live Music

Big tour happenings this week are new shows for Rudimental, The Cribs and LA Priest, with Liverpool Music Week looking tasty in October. Actor James Franco also has a book out about Lana Del Rey; hopefully it'll be followed soon by her album.

We also had a look at the goodness on the way at Leeds' Brudenell Social Club and spoke with Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe and his new sparring partner Tess Parks.

That's me out - I'm off to hope the Kendal Calling weather forecast picks up...
