Vampire Weekend set for October UK return

16th Jul 2008

Vampire Weekend are to bring their brand of tongue-in-cheek preppy indie back to the UK later this year after successful festival performances.

The New York band were the biggest draws at T in the Park and Oxegen last weekend and have grown a massive following this year through word of mouth and internet blogs.

As a result, fans will be able to dance to their merry tunes in a number of UK cities this October, with a headlining tour kicking off at Birmingham Academy on October 20th.

The band will the play gigs in Manchester - at the Academy 1 venue - Sheffield, London and Liverpool before ending in Bristol on October 31st.

Meanwhile, former Genesis frontman Peter Gabriel has admitted he may do his own version of Vampire Weekend's Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa after he became a fan of the band.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18686384-ADNFCR
