As awesome festival locations go, Poland's Tauron Nowa Muzyka ranks among the very finest. Matching an exciting, avant garde line up with an equally elaborate location, the esoteric festival has rightly been lauded by music journalists everywhere, with Crack Magazine prompted to write:

“With a cutting-edge line-up and a beautiful location near a hip town with nightlife that could rival most major British cities, Tauron Nowa Muzyka is a festival that deserves all the buzz it gets and you can bet your last szloty it will only get better."

Taking place from 21st-24th August and set in the breathtaking Katowice Coalmine in the south of Poland, not far from Krakow, the winner of the ‘Best Small Festival’ at the European Festival Awards has built in its eight year tenure a reputation as the "best non-commercial music event in Poland and Central Europe", featuring a predominantly electronic music line up, with leanings toward the more experimental (check out the Official aftermovie from 2013 above).

This year sees just that, with the likes of left of field Hyperdub boss man Kode9, Australian down tempo electronica wizard Chet Faker and classically trained, genre spanning Laurel Halo confirmed as opening headliners.

Grime and house aficionado and Rinse FM stalwart Scratch DVA, experimental bass music vixen Ikonika and tribal songstress Cooly G will also be there as part of the 10 years of Hyperdub Showcase, whilst Innervisions co founder Dixon, Warp Records' Jackson and His Computer Band, Hessle Audio's Ben UFO and Mouse on Mars round off some of the other must-see highlights.

For fans of forward thinking, edgy electornic music, this is an absolute must. Head here to find out more about Tauron Nowa Muzyka. Grab your Tauron Nowa Muzyka tickets here.
