For those of us still unsure as to what festival to hit this summer, The Guardian, alongside travel money site No.1 Currency have come out with a whole bunch of data detailing which festivals will be harshest and kindest to your bank balance.

Ticket prices take the first focus, with goliath festivals Coachella, Glastonbury and Tomorrowland in Belgium unsurprisingly topping the charts. For the magnitude of the event, Barcelona's Sonar comes in at a very low price, with Serbia's Exit Festival (below) being an absolute snip at the foot of the chart.

The research also takes in average beer prices, because let's be honest, festivals are a much more enjoyable experience with buckets of alcohol involved.

Sonar again comes up trumps with an average of 74 pence for pint, with Exit close behind sitting around the £1 mark. Those that love cheap booze may be in for a shock though with Glastonbury coming in at a whopping £4.40 per bevvie, and Coachella a staggering £5.73. If your hitting Glasto this year, you might want to check out our article on the fine art of alcohol smuggling.

The research also gets in depth with average costs per meal, the total costs of the trip, and overall daily costs, head here to check it out.
