Tangled had quietly and happily gone along with their business for many years, racking up birthdays with ease, programming a blend of house, breaks and techno to a loyal crowd who had lapped up a night which fastidiously stuck to its guns and did what it did without fuss. But when the club finally announced it was closing its doors, many thought this was the end of another long-running night which had seen other sessions come and go and come and go again, holding its own quiet easily against the city’s more transient parties.
But it did not take too long however for David Vincent and Phil Morse to get these esteemed heads together and formulate a plan.
So as part of the ongoing Sankeys’ evolution, it seemed therefore a union was in order, and thus the vibrant Tangled magic now lives on in Sankeys, bringing a slightly different musical edge to the club. Friday 7th’s summer show brings back two of Tangled’s favourite guests – Paolo Mojo and Lee Burridge – to the city, each pioneers in their respective fields. Paolo is one of the new breed of electronic funk DJs, having built up the support from the likes of Digweed and Sasha and morphed this into new sound all of his own. From his epoch breaking Balance compilation with which he was one of the first people to showcase the power of Ableton, he has fostered a global pedigree and respect from his peers.

Long-standing Lee Burridge is arguably one of the most consistent players of this scene, having set the pace for the series of Global Underground CDs which saw him touring the world many times over with his darkly drum-led aural soundscapes, one of the few true greats able to fashion epic sets.
